The PGA Tour’s prestigious THE PLAYERS Championship (TPC) has been played at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, part of greater Jacksonville, for 44 consecutive editions since relocating there in 1982.
27 Football Championships
Jacksonville-area teams have won a combined 27 major championships, including 22 state football titles sanctioned by the Florida High School Athletic Association (third-most of any Florida county), four indoor football championships by the Jacksonville Sharks (ArenaBowl XXIV in 2011 and three National Arena League titles from 2017–2019), and ArenaBowl IV (1990) won by the Jacksonville Bulls.
15,563 Runners
The 48th annual Gate River Run in March 2025 drew 15,563 participants, making it Northeast Florida’s largest single-day road race.
